Village board meetings are the 1st Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the village hall.
Any dogs 5 months and older must be licensed per State Statute. Dog licenses are due January 1st of each year. Proof of vaccination for rabies is required. You must have permission from the village board for a third dog. See the village clerk to purchase your license(s).
It is the homeowner's responsibility to set up their own garbage and recycle pick-up. Call LRS at (608) 580-0580. The Village of Lowell also provides a dumpster labeled “Recycle Only” located by the Lowell post office.
The Village of Lowell contracts with General Engineering Company of Portage, WI. If you are planning any construction, reconstruction, remodeling, or revamping on your premises, please call our inspector, Dion, at 1-608-617-9326 to see if you need a permit.
Do I need a swimming pool permit? Do I need a fence permit?
A permit is needed for a swimming pool and for a fence. Obtain the forms needed from the village clerk.
If you wish to have a campfire, you must first get a permit from the Lowell Fire Chief Larry DeBlare at 920-382-3038 to schedule a time to have your fire pit inspected to make sure the proposed burn site meets our village ordinance and safety requirements.
Leaves can be burned on your property in piles not to exceed four (4) feet in any direction measured horizontally or three (3) feet measured vertically. The pile of material to be burned shall be at least 50 feet away from any structure. You cannot burn after 7:00 pm. You may also take leaf and grass clippings and three branches 6" in diameter or less to the lot next to the VFW. No lumber, boards, or construction material may be dropped there.
Burn barrels are permitted provided they are covered with a fine wire mesh screen and are located a minimum of twenty (20) feet from any structure. Burning is not permitted after 7:00 p.m.

She is part-time, and her voice mail is only checked when she is in the office. If it is not an emergency but you'd like immediate response, call the Dodge County Sheriff Dept. at 920-386-3726 to speak to a dispatcher. If it's an emergency, call or text 911.
CLR is the name of our Fire Department. It is a joint operation that includes the Villages of Clyman, Lowell, and Reeseville, and the Towns of Lowell, Clyman, Portland, and Elba. Volunteer firefighters are always welcome to join.
Village of Lowell residents vote at the Village Hall, 105 North River Street. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are several options. **Attend village board meetings. **There is a bulletin board between the post office door and the village hall door. Check it periodically for updates. The left side is for village business, and the right side is for public events. **There is a Facebook page for the Village of Lowell. **Information can also be found at the village website www.villageoflowellwi.com ** A monthly Lowell Millstream newsletter is published and a copy can be picked up inside the post office around the 1st of each month.
